this phone through prince rich and tell
them i said to hook you up with a good
price so
anyways without further ado let's jump
into this and do a hands-on review of
the yaylink t-46s
okay we're back you guys so this phone
the a-link t46s
is an interesting one you guys and let
me tell you why so
i'm gonna tag this video above but this
phone has actually been at this time of
this video in 2020
this phone has been superseded by a new
phone
call the yeah link t 54 w
which you know what i'll actually show
you really quick because they have a
striking
resemblance this right here
is the a-link t-54w i'm going to tag
above this video a full hands-on review
that i did on that phone
so you guys can see it reason i show you
that is because even though the t54w
is the new and improved version of the
t46s two things
this phone here that you guys are
looking at the t-46s
is still cheaper it is still
very very popular and very widely used
and strangely enough it is more
compatible with all of the current
carriers on the market
than the t54w so
chances are if you're looking at a
carrier like many of the ones that i
mentioned
on our website like ring central uh
you know vonage nextiva on sip all of
those guys
most of those carriers strangely enough
at the time of this video and we do
suspect that this will change
they do not support the replacement
of the t46s which is the t-54w
what does this mean this means that this
phone is highly favored among many many
carriers
it's not only highly favored and
compatible with most carriers out there
it's actually cheaper than the new and
improved t54w
and does a lot of the same things that
its replacement does
with some minor exceptions which we
aren't going to get into in this video
so anyways enough about the differences
between the yeah link t46s and its new
and improved big brother let's talk
about this phone
now you guys know it's no secret that we
work with literally hundreds and
hundreds of businesses across the united
states
to help them find the right voiceover ip
phone system solution for their scenario
um one of the biggest things that some
people
will say when they say hey prince can
you make a recommendation on a phone
and i start asking questions they'll say
give me a phone that's got
a color screen but is really nice to
look at meaning a larger screen that's
easy on the eyes
for me or maybe some of my staff that
may have minor you know visual
impairments like glasses or bifocals or
whatever it may be
if that is you and you want a really
nice screen that is big
easy to look at good on the eyes this is
the one this screen tends to be almost
twice the size of what the screen sizes
are on your typical polycoms and other
competing
uh phone brands uh out there in the
market
it's a great screen to look at on top of
that
you can even make some changes in the
firmware on this and put like
i've had customers that have put their
logo and stuff like that in the actual
background
you know like a like a like a watermark
of their logo or their brand
in the actual background on this uh on
on the menu screen which is actually
kind of neat
i've never done that myself but i've
worked with some franchises that have
done it so that's kind of a nice touch
but if you're looking for a screen that
is really good on the eyes
and is appealing to look at you know
good for the minorly visually impaired
and is and is nice to look at just
in an office environment this is the one
one of the other things that people like
about this phone a lot including me
it's kind of the yay link signature
thing
is just the buttons on these phones are
really nice
very ergonomic silver nice to look at
but just feel really really good on the
hands you guys
i've actually worked with some folks in
the recent past
that they strictly chose the yay link
brand of phones
t-46s or some of the other t-46s like
phones because of the ergonomic buttons
and because
they were easy to press like a lot of
people complain that the round buttons
you you misfire when you go to speed
dial and things like that
so if you like buttons that feel really
good on the hands and are hard for you
to miss if you're a speed dialer like
working in a call center or you just
make a lot of calls
this is definitely the phone for you
as you can see over here everything is
laid out pretty self-explanatory
you've got your button over here to
activate and deactivate headset
you've got a quick mute button if you
need to mute like speaker or mute
somebody
you can place somebody on hold really
easily here
press this message button and it will
access your internal voicemail for your
extension and ask you for your pin and
security clearance
redial is pretty self-explanatory
transfer and then you've got your
speakerphone here
um you've also got your up and down
volume here which works for
if you're on the handset or if you're on
the speakerphone
um and then you've got your directional
pad over here
that would be for moving around the
menus and things like that
uh respectively
okay so since i just brought up speaker
a minute ago we're going to discuss that
so as you can see here here's the
handset or receiver
here's also your speaker now for those
of you who are frequent in my videos you
know that polycom has a thing called hd
voice
and link has a thing called hd voice now
while i want to be clear that there is a
big difference between
polycom hd voice and yelling hd voice
it's actually not bad
the speaker phone on these actually
sounds very good
for those of you who know how the old
phone systems and older
phone technology works speakerphone
tends to not be of the greatest quality
and you usually get people that say hey
dude are you on a speakerphone because
it just doesn't sound great
that's typically not the case with these
newer iphones like this
the speaker is really good quality the
other person on the other end can hear
you well and they receive uh your
transmission good
and vice versa with yay links hd voice
they should come through sounding
roughly almost as good
as on the receiver or as if they're you
know in the room with you it should
sound fairly lifelike
moving on to the actual uh function keys
and line
appearance keys i want to jump into this
for a second so
as you can see here you have got
basically five
line capability on both sides of the
screen so that is approximately
you would literally have up to 10
simultaneous calls at the same time
capability on this phone
good amount of call capability for most
people i mean
you guys for most people i work with in
the industry approximately three to four
simultaneous call line capability is
sufficient enough
for most professionals and individuals
that i work with so
realistically speaking i mean 10 line
capability is more than enough
what i tend to see a lot of businesses
do is that don't need full 10 line
capability
you can actually go into this phone with
the help of your carrier
and make it to where this side is your
five line capability
and then the other side is your shared
line appearance capability
to be able to see what other people are
doing in the office or see if another
attendant
is on hold or something like that or
whatever or you can just turn these into
speed dials
now to be clear you have speed dial
capability digitally
but some people are old school and they
like to have speed dial through actual
buttons versus being able to go in the
menus here
but you have a directory where you can
have virtually unlimited speed dials but
if you're old-fashioned and you don't
need all 10 line capability
then uh you can actually do some form of
using this for visual speed dials for
numbers that you may call frequently
and whatnot
last but not least for the front of this
phone
these are your four function keys here
they're pretty self-explanatory
the function keys like the old-school
cell phones you know that used to have
two or four function keys under the
screen
will be you know respected to whatever
function like now it's send
option delete back you go back and then
it's history directory do not disturb
and menu so i'm pretty self-explanatory
very
big function keys for people that you
know maybe have small fingers or you
maybe have you know
tired eyes and you just want something
that seems user friendly and is easy to
interact with
moving to the back of the yaylink t46s
as you can see here you have got your
port for your handset coming in which
we've got plugged in for the actual
receiver
you've got a separate port auxiliary
port for a headset that uses an rj9
you've also got a dc5 volt ac adapter
now you're probably wondering
how do i have this thing powered with
nothing plugged into this this phone is
fully power over ethernet
so this cable that you see here is
actually going back to my power over
ethernet switch
and that's how i'm powering the phone so
no uh dc
no dc or ac adapter needed um if you
have a power over ethernet switch
also this phone is gigabit ethernet
capable
and it also has a pass through here for
you to come
out here and go back into another device
like a pc
so that you can use a single internet
cable to uh
not only give uh internet to the phone
but also give internet service to you
know a companion device like a pc or a
laptop that may be next to you
um i want to show you guys one more
thing before we move off the subject of
the auxiliary port here for the headset
because most of you are probably
thinking well my headset doesn't use a
port like that so how am i going to use
it
i'll show you so the alien t46s also
supports usb
so if you've got a usb headset you can
also plug that into this if you've got
like a call center style headset of
sorts
that you would like to use um
also this phone does support
wi-fi and bluetooth but it's not
natively
like this phone's big brother the t-54w
the t-54w has wi-fi and bluetooth built
in meaning you can search for wi-fi
ssids
or search for and pair bluetooth devices
from the menu however this
phone does not support that natively
but you can get a wi-fi dongle and a
bluetooth dongle
that you can connect to this phone that
will allow you to connect to
uh you know a bluetooth like hands-free
headset or connect to a wireless network
so it is capable of this phone
but you would have to get an adapter
also what is known as a wi-fi dongle or
a bluetooth dongle adapter
so that concludes our end-up review of
the very popular
yay link t46s for those of you who are
wondering approximately what
this device cost if i hadn't mentioned
it already
this device runs from various sources
online from anywhere around i want to
say
about a hundred and fifteen dollars to i
think i've seen it as high as 125 to
um again you can get this from voiceover
ipsupply brand new
for approximately around that same price
and sometimes they have it on what they
call
a refresh or what we like to refer to as
certified refurbished
and you can get it for as almost like
half price like anywhere from about 60
to 75 dollars
ahead great phone very very popular
among many industries that i have worked
with
um there are a few voiceover ip carriers
out there that we work with that still
offer this as a free phone
with new service on an agreement um
if you're interested in this phone give
me a shout

youtube channel below or you can message

and i'll hook you up with the right
people at voiceover at voip supply

uh voiceover ip service providers
support this phone
or which ones actually offer this phone

In this video, Prince Rich with Rich Technology Group provides an in-depth review of the YayLink T46S phone. This phone has been superseded by a new phone called the YayLink T54W. However, the T46S is still widely used, cheaper than T54W, and is highly favored and compatible with most carriers out there. It has a large screen that is easy on the eyes, and the buttons on these phones are very ergonomic and hard to miss. This phone has a five-line capability on both sides of the screen, which is approximately 10 simultaneous calls at the same time capability on this phone. The speaker phone on these actually sounds very good, and the HD voice technology makes the speaker sound lifelike.
The YayLink T46S phone is easy to connect with any hardware phones or softphones to LiveAgent and distribute calls to your offices. This reduces the need for physical call centers and helps businesses to have immediate access to their customers' calls from all around the world. The compatibility of the phone with most carriers makes it easier for businesses that use virtual call center software and have a distributed workforce. The ergonomic buttons and advanced features make this a popular choice among businesses that require high call volume and quality communication with their customers.
