Founded in Denmark in 2002, Redspot initially set up WiFi hotspots in cafés, hotels, and private hospitals. They made a groundbreaking move as the first in Europe to provide outdoor WiFi in a major metropolitan area. This milestone took place in Aarhus, Denmark’s second-largest city, in collaboration with Hewlett Packard, Tiscali, and local businesses, including Magasin, offering free usage to the public.

After successfully establishing outdoor WiFi, Redspot expanded its services to provide wireless Internet access to individuals. In 2004, shifting its focus, Redspot entered the internet telephony market. Pioneering in Denmark, they were the first to introduce international Flat Rate plans, securing their position as a market leader.
